Welcome
Hi my name is Sharne Fairchild and this is my site dedicated to my photography.
I am a Portrait, Headshot and Landscape Photographer based in Chelmsford Essex, although I am able to travel to more well known haunts, such as London, Cambridge etc.
I’ve been interested in Photography for a long time now, since getting my first .8mp camera (yes that is less than 1!) to take pictures with when my Niece was born.
The start of my photography career was kick-started in 2013 with me picking up a Sony Alpha 200 camera, shooting mainly animals and landscape. I then upgraded to a Sonly Alpha 58 SLT, and started attending a few lighting and studio workshops.
I have since then moved onto a Nikon D800 Full Frame Slr and moved onto shooting more portraiture.
In June 2014 I joined the Nikon Photo 24 hour challenge, which involved spending an entire 24 hours in London on the longest day of the year. My reward for this is that my submissions were nominated in three categories, Best Overall Image, Best Street Photography and Best Bridges Across London. Not bad out of 9 categories.
The result was that I won the Best Bridges across London, along with my image being published in Advanced Photographer Magazine.
Since then I have shot as an official photographer at a world record attempt for Marching Bands, shot Ice skaters, as well as a number of portrait and studio shoots.
I have also ventured a little in Fashion photography, which brings with it a more demanding style, recently being published in a Fashion blog.
